Mittens & Toques

  • Aran Delight Mittens

These cabled mittens are distinguished by an intricate Aran pattern that is both bold & delicate. A seed stitch border nicely frames the main cable that travels up the back of the hand. The small honeycomb pattern on the palm adds interest without being too bulky. These beautiful mittens will become a favourite for years to come. No seaming is necessary as the mittens are knit in the round from cuff to fingertip. The mittens are designed to be roomy enough to add a warm lining. While 100% wool is recommended for durable & warm mittens, a lining made of alpaca adds a touch of luxury.

  • Irish Moss Toque

This toque features an intricate main cable framed by a seed stitch border and a smaller, twisting diamond cable. The seed stitch is repeated inside the diamonds, creating a pleasing balance between the cables.  Since the toque is knit in the round, no seaming is required. Instructions for two different sizes, women’s and men’s, are provided, although the elastic quality of the cables make the toque fit a variety of sizes.  Knit in Patons Classic Wool yarn, this toque has the warmth and durability of wool, and yet is still soft and comfortable against the skin. The folded ear band creates an extra layer to keep ears warm.

  • Houndstooth Mittens

These stylish, eye-catching mittens feature a classic houndstooth pattern. They knit up quickly in chunky weight yarn, but will no doubt be a favourite winter accessory for many years to come. They are knit in the round from the cuff to the fingertips, which means that you are always working from the right side of the fabric. The stranded yarn on the wrong side of the fabric acts like a liner, creating a second layer for extra warmth.  These mittens will no doubt be as fun to knit as they are to wear!

  • Houndstooth Hat

This bold hat in a classic houndstooth pattern is sure to turn heads! Knit in chunky weight yarn, it will knit up very quickly. Since the hat is knit in the round, there is no seaming, and you will always be working on the right side of the fabric. The stranded yarn on the wrong side of the fabric acts like a liner, creating a second layer for extra warmth. The small pattern repeat of the houndstooth stitch has several advantages. It is easy to memorize, which means that you won’t need to slow down your progress by referring to the chart often.
